‘God, she’s so beautiful.’ That was Ali’s first thought when Meagan walked into the restaurant on their first date. Her big smile instantly melted away his nerves and brought a sense of calm to his racing thoughts. As for Meagan, on her way to the date, she clutched her rosary and whispered her own prayer – “God, please don’t let this be another waste of time.” After years of dating and disappointments, she was ready for something real, ready to meet her person. This time, her prayer was about to be answered.
That first date stretched on for hours, as they shared stories about their dogs, Angel and Rumi, their mutual love for Frank Ocean, and their shared disdain for the Kardashians. They opened up about family, childhoods, their passion-driven careers, and joked that in a world full of crazy, they might just be the craziest of all. With so much in common, they exchanged looks of playful suspicion, wondering how they’d been living such parallel lives. Even their waiter couldn’t help but notice the magic, leaning in to quietly tell Ali, “The staff and I agree – this is the best first date we’ve ever seen.” The connection was undeniable. Something incredibly special had begun.
From that night on, they were inseparable. Their early days were filled with live music, long walks with the dogs, cozy homemade dinners, and an ongoing quest to find the perfect burger. Falling in love was inevitable, and when they did, they landed softly on a bed of laughter and shared dreams.
Trips to Vancouver and Old Quebec only deepened their bond, showing them how effortless and exciting their future could be. It didn’t take long before they moved in together, built a home, and began planning the life they’d always wanted.
As for Angel and Rumi? They became the best of brothers, adding even more joy to Meagan and Ali’s blooming life together.
Just six blissful months after that unforgettable first date, on a road trip to New Orleans with their dogs, Ali asked Meagan to be his wife – and she said yes.
